Bozeman Summer Activities
The town of Bozeman and
it’s smaller surrounding towns of Bridger and Belgrade are about 40
miles north of Big Sky and represent the largest town in the area. It
includes the Montana State University and a total of about 38,000
inhabitants mostly students, small business people, and farmers.
Bozeman has movie theaters, antique shops, old western style gift shops
and lots of cafes and restaurants. It also has about a half dozen major
grocery stores including Albertsons, Safeway, Smiths, and Costco. They
are proud of their Walmart and Home Depot but the charm is on Main
Street downtown. To get to Bozeman go north on Highway 191 to Four
Corners ( about 35 miles), turn right her onto Huffine lane which leads
you straight downtown as it turns into Main Street.
What to Do in Bozeman...
The Museum of the Rockies
The Museum of The Rockies is one of the best dinosaur museums anywhere and is open 8am to 8pm daily.

Pioneer Museum
The Pioneer Museum is at 317 W. Main Street in Bozeman and features much of the heritage of this area famous for the discoveries and exploration by Lewis & Clark.
Virginia City
This is the real Virginia City ghost town about an hour and a half away from Big Sky, one hour from Bozeman. It is in the Madison Valley, just west of the town of Ennis and
accessible by driving north on Highway 191 past Four Corners to Interstate 90 west to Highway 287 south toward Ennis. This is a fun half day trip if you like old west and the gold rush history of this area.
Where to Eat in Bozeman...
The Garage
1.5 Hours. 2.5 miles.
We like to eat lunch at a place on your left as you head out the other
side of town on Main Street called the Garage (looks like an old gas
station but food is good and local flavor great as they give you a menu
on old license plates).
Starky's Deli
Starky's Deli in the middle of town is also good for lunch with nice soups and big sandwiches.
